Meet Jami

I am passionate about Mindfulness, Wellness, and Adventures.

Born in Morocco, my grandparents have always been an inspiration for me. Their enthusiasm for education has been my drive growing up.

My grandfather sold his business in his hometown in Fes and moved to Casablanca at that time, to allow his children to have access to the best education. My grandmother rooted in a traditional family from the Middle East has always been proud to mention that Fes has one of the oldest universities in the World. Being a dedicated student, I joined renowned European schools and started my career in finance.

My career in banking was challenging and rewarding but life was caught up with endless busy-ness from work but also from my lifestyle. Then 2020 hit and the lockdown forced me to revaluate my lifestyle and my priorities. Meditation and daily journaling helped me to focus on the present moment and release fears about past traumas but also about what was happening in the world at that time.  During that truly transformative period, I got the idea to create my own product to guide people who went through a similar situation and needed guidance for their self growth journey.

Coffee. Meditation. Journaling.

What do you think is your biggest quality?

Brave. Inspired by the below quote:

"Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently."
— Maya Angelou

What the values that drive you?

Simplicity, Kindness, Positivity, Respect for the people and for the planet.

What’s would be your last meal on Earth?

Really hard to answer this one. Probably a yummy Italian pizza!

What’s your favourite book?

The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. I got introduced to it when I was traveling, and when I read it everything made sense. I also like that the story is happening in North Africa where I was born, and it made my travel journey have more meaning.

When did you start travelling and what were the challenges traveling by yourself?

I started traveling in the summer of 2021. My dream of exploring the world was bigger than the fears and challenges that this might represent. I had a good feeling that it was the right time and I went for it.

How would you describe your travel style:

plan-ahead or plan as you go? Why does this work best for you, and has it evolved over time?

My travel style is a mix of plan-ahead and plan as you go but mainly plan-ahead. I think it is essential to have things planned on a big scale while keeping some flexibility to enjoy the experience to the maximum.

Nomad Gear: What are 3 packable products you always take on the road?

My laptop, extra battery for my phone which serves for most of my pictures and my travel yoga mat.

What are the self-love habits that have changed your life?

Self-care and self-love are important indeed.  As such, I have implemented the following 5 habits that became an essential part of my daily routine.

Gratitude journaling: this has been a life changing! I am committed to this gratitude journaling because it makes me see things positively and appreciate the little things in life. It develops compassion and love for oneself.

Meditation: the best medicine for the mind truly, it made me clam down the little voice that was pushing me to procrastinate and separate myself from my negative thoughts. It helped me as well have a better understanding why these thoughts are recurrent and what actions I can take to change that negative vision I am receiving at that moment either of myself or of the world.

Positive affirmations: I started the positive affirmations habit only recently, since few months now, because I realised while meditating that self-talk is important and I wanted to bring more love, positivity, and kindness to my path, thus I included it to my morning routine.

Connecting with nature: I love doing regular outdoor activities. I am like a battery, spending time in nature it recharges me! I either do yoga outdoors or go for a hike or go the beach.  Last year, I have been in two hikes one in the Andes Mountains in Peru and the other one in the Everest region in Nepal. It was one of the most mesmerizing and rewarding adventuresI have ever done.

Dress my best because when you dress your best, you feel your best, and you act your best
