Top 10 things to do in Iceland in the winter ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ธ

I've spent the winter holidays in Iceland, and I've never seen any place like it on Earth. Here are 10 of the recommended things to do during the winter.

1. Northern lights ๐ŸŒŒ

The Northern Lights are one of the main draws to see in Iceland during the winter. You can spot them from September to April, but the best time to see them is during the darkest months of December and January. To maximise your chances to see the lights, you can book your tour with a local guide OR I recommend to plan a visit to the Aurora Basecamp and keep an eye on the Aurora Forecast. To find ideal spots for Northern Lights Photography, check out Asa's adventure map of Iceland!

2. New Year's fire works ๐ŸŽ‡

Iceland New Years' festivities are spectacular and worth experiencing, 360 fireworks are displayed at Hallgrimskirkja main landmark in Reykjavik. Fireworks can be purchased by locals and visitors of which gains serves for charity.

3. Golden Circle ๐ŸŒ‹

You can't miss these sites, there aren't any place like these in the planet; Pingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area in Haukadalur valley, and the Gullfoss waterfall.
